Cayla Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary. She is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
Cayla has worked primarily in collaboration with rural and urban educational institutions providing counselling therapy and consultation to clients in Kindergarten through to grade 12, post-secondary students of all ages, parents, and educators. Recently she worked in the area of domestic abuse and violence. Her area of research during her Masters was on stigma experiences of women with piercings and tattoos in the workplace. She creatively utilizes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) supplemented with solution-focused, narrative, response-based and art-based modalities.
Cayla believes that counselling should always be a choice. She hopes to provide clients a new and fresh experience with counselling and strives to provide a genuine and validating environment while letting the client drive the bus in the direction they feel is most helpful for them.
When Cayla is not busy focusing on clients, she dabbles in music, dance, yoga and crafting.
Cayla looks forward to seeing you soon!
Cayla Martin works Thursdays and Fridays. She is only accepting online clients at this time, and as such, is accepting clients ages 10+
