Andrea Rodgers is a Registered Psychologist who completed her Master of Science in Educational Psychology with a specialization in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. She specializes in working with Children, Teens, and Young Adults. Her graduate research and clinical training focused on intervention and assessment for adolescents and young adults experiencing social skills and relational challenges.
For the past 10 years, Andrea has worked in the social services sector where she gained invaluable experience working as an Educational Assistant, Caseworker in Domestic Violence, and Crisis Counsellor. These experiences helped to foster strong values of compassion, authenticity and advocacy, which are at the core of her current practice.
Andrea has training and experience providing psychoeducational assessments, developmental and behavioural interventions, counselling, and social skills interventions. She has pursued additional training and certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Crisis Intervention. Currently, Andrea is working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
Andrea’s areas of specialty include; school concerns, emotional regulation, anxiety disorders, social skills training, interpersonal relationships, positive behaviour support, and building coping skills. She is particularly passionate about working with neurodiverse children, teens, and young adults, operating from neurodiversity-affirming and strength-based approaches.
